Why this is important

Customers are actively looking for companies that take online card payments. It gives both you & the customer more security, plus it makes the booking process easier for everyone involved. Also, taking online card payments decreases the admin work of creating an invoice, checking for payments & sending confirmation emails to customers. Often in busy seasons, companies can be too busy to send invoices due to the amount of work involved. This leads to missed opportunities & poor cash flow. Having the ability to take online card payments helps to stop this from happening. Note, this feature is optional. You choose wether you do or not use the online card payment feature on Marquee Tech. If you choose to use the online card payment feature there is a processing fee of 2.4%. If you choose not to use the online card payment feature, your customer's will not be able to pay online via card. You can still accept cash, bank and cheque payments and mark invoices as paid without this feature.

Can my customers still pay by cash, cheque or online bank transfer?

Of course, card payment is just one of the payment methods available.

Is there a transaction fee?

Yes with all card payments there is a transaction fee. The fee on Marquee Tech is 2.4%.

What happens once a customer pays?

Once a card payment is made, the money is sent to your account. The customer is sent the receipt, paid invoice & booking confirmation email. The inventory is marked off for the event date/e. The calendar is updated with the event date/s, set-up date/s & take-down date/s. Plus, if you have other invoices for the remaining balance, the system will schedule payment reminder emails & invoice emails to be sent on the due date, so you don't need to worry about being paid on time.

Do customers have to pay to reserve inventory & confirm the booking?

Nope, you have the option to mark off inventory for customers who pay after the event.

I do not want to accept online card payments. Can I turn this feature off?

You can easily turn off this feature. It is optional. If you do not use the online card payment feature, you can still accept payments via cash, bank transfers and cheque payments and mark invoices as paid.
